Package D: Polishing

When I set out to create these packages of the products I use, creating the Polishing Package is what I believed to be the most useful for all of us.  There is so much information and an insane amount of product choices out there.  It is extremely difficult to figure out with what and how to do it, but polishing a car isn't as hard as you think.  Prep the surface, tape the trim, get a random orbital polisher and some pads, and you can see some great results.  Especially with the quality of the products that are now available.

Attempting to narrow down the hundreds of products that I either have in my cabinet or have tried and thrown away over the roughly 15 years I've been polishing my cars is difficult.  Especially since paints react differently to different products and techniques.

This package includes the products that I find myself using on almost any car.  I will be adding supplemental products and polishers that I also use, but this package is what I believe to be our must haves...the bare essentials.  If you have this package, you can get a great result on almost any vehicle.

I understand this adds up to become very a expensive package.  Each product is available on its own to allow you to build your own version of this package.  Below is what is included:

  • 1 Liter CarPro Eraser
  • 1 Gallon CarPro Eraser
  • 3M Precision Masking Tape (60 Yards)
    • 1 - 1/4" Roll
    • 2 - 1" Rolls
    • 2 - 2" Rolls
  • 1 - 32oz Jescar Correcting Compound
  • 6 Meguiar's 5" Microfiber Cutting Pads
  • 6 Meguiar's 3" Microfiber Cutting Pads
  • 1 Liter Sonax Perfect Finish
  • 6 Rupes 5" Yellow Foam Polishing Pads
  • 6 Rupes 3" Yellow Foam Polishing Pads
  • 6 Rupes 5" White Foam Finishing Pads
  • 6 Rupes 3" White Foam Finishing Pads
  • 10 Yellow Polish Removal 80/20 Microfiber Towels

The most important part of this process, but that really adds to the cost, would be to purchase the polishers.  I've added them as an option.  I would suggest, as I use these machines the most, the LHR15MKII 5" and LHR75E 3" Rupes polishers.  I will have all the machines available in the store, but these are the two I would want as a minimum.
