This Car Wash DI Resin is the resin you want for your deionized water system. It is a 50/50 mix of virgin cation and anion resin. When you buy this, you get 1 cubic foot of resin. This is the same DI resin that ships with our Wash Stations. If you need a refill for your Wash Station, this is what you want to buy.
We get asked constantly if the cheap resin on Amazon works as a replacement. Don't do it. This is a virgin mixed-bed resin, meaning it has never been used and never been regenerated. Regenerated resin is cheaper for a reason. It has a lower capacity, inconsistent quality, and you have no idea what water ran through it before it got to you. Virgin resin gives you full exchange capacity from the first gallon, which means more spot-free water per fill and fewer refills per year. Your wash station was built around this specific blend, and this is what keeps it performing the way it did on day one.
The blend is a 50/50 mix of cation and anion resin, purpose-built for once-through spot-free rinsing. It strips the dissolved minerals that cause water spots, so you rinse your car and walk away. No drying, no spots, no chasing mineral deposits off black paint.
How Much Do You Need
- Single Wash Station: holds 1/2 cubic foot. One bag fills your cartridge 2 times.
- Dual Wash Station: holds 1 cubic feet across its two DI tanks. One bag fills 2 cartridges.
This resin is blended and sized for our wash stations. We don't recommend or support using it in other systems.
How To Refill
Leave room in the tank. This resin swells up to 20% once water hits it. Pack the tank completely full, and you will restrict flow or damage the housing. Fill to the level in your wash station manual and let the resin do its thing.
Store unopened bags at room temperature, below 80 degrees. Heat degrades the anion component, and you will smell it when it happens. A garage in summer is not the place for this. A closet inside the house is. Unopened bags last about 2 years stored correctly. If you stock up, use your oldest bag first.
