Mytee 3601 System Maintainer Extractor Descaler

This is a maintenance descaler for carpet and upholstery extractors. It clears hard water scale and old cleaning chemical residue out of your machine's tanks, lines, and heater.

I run this through my own extractors on a regular basis, and it's not optional if you want your equipment to last. Hard water minerals and leftover soap build up inside the plumbing every time you run a cleaning solution through, and once that scale sets in, you lose pump pressure and your heater has to work harder to hit temperature. This descaler breaks that buildup loose so it flushes out instead of hardening in place.

It's a simple mix. This one quart bottle mixes 1:1 with warm water, so you get one full treatment per bottle. It works in both hot and cold water extractors, sprayers, and injectors, so it's not limited to heated units. You can also use it as a soak for clogged jet tips on your wands and upholstery tools.

This is a machine maintenance product. It's not a carpet or upholstery cleaner, and it's not meant to go anywhere near fabric directly.

How to use it

1. Mix the full quart of System Maintainer with one quart of warm water in a separate container.
2. Pour the mixed solution into your extractor's solution tank.
3. Connect a cleaning tool, like an upholstery tool or wand, and remove the jet or jets first so loosened mineral deposits don't clog them.
4. Turn on the pump first and run the solution through the tool until you get a steady stream.
5. Turn on the heater next. Never turn the heater on before the pump, since that can cause vapor lock and affect how the machine runs.
6. Let the solution sit inside the machine for about 5 minutes.
7. Run the rest of the solution through the system.
8. Flush the system with clean water to rinse out anything left behind.
