RUPES D-A Fine (Yellow) Foam Polishing Pad

These are the new D-A Pads from RUPES. The most noticeable changes are their shape and deeper yellow color.

The 3" and 5" pads are priced individually.

There are dozens, if not hundreds, of foam pads on the market, with different colors, densities, shapes, sizes, surface types, and more. So which one should you buy? I chose these RUPES pads for a few reasons:

1. They’re designed and tested specifically for use with long-throw polishers, so they can withstand the heat and lateral forces that compromise foam’s structural integrity.
   
2. I've been using these since RUPES first launched them, and the color codes are now ingrained in my brain: Blue - Heavy Polishing, Green - Medium, Yellow - 1 Step or Finishing, White - Finishing.

The Yellow pad is probably the most-used pad in my arsenal. I often pair it with something like Sonax Perfect Finish for a one-step polish. Since it’s a bit stiffer than the White pad, you may also find that it delivers a better finish on certain paints.

As much as I like complete sets, I find only the Yellow and White pads necessary. Pair those with a bunch of RUPES D-A Fine (Yellow) Microfiber Polishing Pads, and you should be able to tackle almost any situation. Sizing can be a bit confusing, but here’s how it works:

• 3" Pad = Fits a 3" backing plate and has a 4" face.
• Use with LHR75E (Mini)
  
  
• 5" Pad = Fits a 5" backing plate and has a 6" face.
• Use with LHR15ES, MKIII, LHR12E (Duetto)

These pads are designed for dual-action random-orbit polishers, specifically long-throw machines. They aren't recommended for rotary or forced-rotation machines.
