Pro Lock Replacement Locking Head
If you’re tired of cords pulling apart or coming loose under load, this solves that problem without replacing the entire cord. This replaces the standard female end of an extension cord with Pro Lock’s locking connection. You cut off the existing female end and install this locking head in its place.
What It Is
A reusable locking receptacle designed to retrofit standard extension cords. Once installed, it creates a positive locking connection that stays put during use.
It installs with basic hand tools and includes internal hardware and strain relief to do it correctly.
Compatibility
- Works with standard extension cords (12/3 and 10/3)
- Includes two strain relief sizes to accommodate different cord diameters
- Can be removed and reused if needed
This is meant to be a long-term solution, not a one-time modification.
Why I Use It
Loose connections are a constant annoyance.
This fixes that by:
- Preventing accidental unplugging
- Reducing stress on the cord and plug
- Creating a more secure, intentional setup
It’s especially useful anywhere cords get moved, tugged, or repositioned during use. I like to use these in my Coxreel Power Cord Reel. That way, I can keep the nice cable that comes with the reel while having the added benefit of the locking head.
Who It’s For
If you already own good extension cords and want to upgrade how they connect, this is the right approach. It’s a simple part that makes a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.
