Basic Four Car Garage Lighting Solution
Description
Lighting Solution
We get a lot of questions on lighting layouts and how many fixtures to purchase. For a four-car garage, you'll be shooting for a four-wide and three-deep layout. Cover each parking space with three fixtures perpendicular to the vehicle, and you'll be off to a good start. These lights have a super high lumen output, but they find a way to not be too harsh on your eyes. The color temperature is exactly what you want for your four-car garage.
You should install these with two separate switches to separate the room into halves. You could get creative as well, though. If you have storage or cabinets along the same wall as the entrance into your home, sometimes it works well to have that entire row along the wall be on its own switch. That way, when you walk out into the garage to grab something, you don't have to turn on every light.
For ceilings up to 13 feet, choose the 4-bulb variant. For anything 14 feet and up, choose the 6-bulb option.
