I find myself using these high pile polish removal towels from The Rag Company for softer, more scratch-prone paint surfaces. A premium soft towel with a 70/30 blend that works great for this specific application.
While working on a few of my cars with softer paint, I realized that I kept reaching for the plush waffle weave towels that I have designated for waterless washes. Having something soft with a low GSM was what I wanted for the polish removing process. Nothing heavy or grabby. Also, nothing that could potentially scratch the paint.
Between this and the low pile polish removal towel, you have yourself the best of both worlds. They work hand in hand, and you’ll see how much more efficient you are having them both for different paint situations.
I’ve mentioned this before; if I have to choose between the two, I will select the low pile. The low pile works great for harder paint surfaces and well for softer paint surfaces. Still, you can’t go wrong with having these.
If you’re wondering how many I’m going to have in my cabinet, it’s 20. That’s the magic number with most of my microfiber towels. It just makes life easier when you don’t have to wash them after every application, especially if you’re working on multiple projects.

Microfiber Care Instructions
- Always wash new microfiber towels before first use.
- Wash only with other non-linting materials (no cotton) to maintain proper dirt-gripping properties.
- Always wash newer black, orange, red, and other dark-colored towels separately from lighter colored towels to mitigate the risk of dye bleeding.
- Machine wash with P&S Rags To Riches (free of dyes, fragrances, bleach, and softeners).
- Do NOT use chlorine bleach.
- Do NOT use any fabric softener as this clogs the microfibers and reduces performance.
- Tumble dry using low heat.
- Do NOT iron.
