Lutron Phase Adaptive Power Module

This is the power module I use when a Lutron control needs to handle more lighting load than the dimmer can handle on its own.

This power module takes a 120V control signal and provides phase-adaptive dimming for a full 16A lighting load. It automatically selects forward-phase or reverse-phase dimming based on the connected load, which makes it useful for incandescent, halogen, magnetic low-voltage, and compatible electronic low-voltage lighting.

Why I Use It

I use this module with the Advanced Lighting Solutions found in our store, which have dimmable fixtures. Instead of trying to make a wall dimmer handle a large lighting load by itself, the control signal goes to this power module. This handles the actual load and can automatically select the appropriate phase for the lighting system.

It supports up to 16A at 120V, or 1920W. This is not intended to control non-dimmable loads.

We opted to pair this power module with a 250W Lutron Caseta Smart Switch. It has the needed neutral wire to control the power module, and it can also be integrated with your existing Lutron home network.

Keep In Mind

This is not a replacement for a dimmer. It works in conjunction with your dimmer switch (with a neutral wire). Up to three power modules can be controlled from a single dimmer in supported applications.
