Bosch GPX 12V-77 3" Cordless Polisher
Bosch is one of those brands that doesn’t need much explaining. They build real tools for real work, and that’s why this polisher caught our attention. This isn’t some random cordless detailing tool with a private-label badge slapped on it. It’s Bosch taking their 12V platform and applying it to a tool that actually makes sense for detailing.
The GPX 12V-77 is compact, light, and easy to control. If you’re polishing pillars, bumpers, edges, tight trim areas, or anything a full-size machine can’t comfortably reach, this is where it fits. You can grab it, knock out the small stuff, and move on without dragging out a corded setup.
I look at this as a supplemental tool, not your primary correction machine. That’s the right expectation. It’s not here to replace a full-size polisher. It’s here to make the annoying areas easier.
Where It Fits
- Tight areas like A-pillars, bumpers, trim, edges, and smaller body lines
- Quick polishing jobs where pulling out a corded machine feels like overkill
- Spot correction and finishing work
- A supplemental tool next to your full polishing system
- Mobile setups where cordless tools make life easier
What I Like
The biggest win is the trigger lock. Once you use it, you’re not going back. You can run the tool without constantly squeezing the trigger, which matters when you’re working longer sections or awkward angles.
The size also makes sense. A 3-inch backing plate is actually useful here. It’s small enough to get into tighter areas, but not so tiny that it feels like a toy. The tool is light, balanced, and easy to control, which is exactly what I want from a cordless spot-polishing machine.
The speed control is simple, the brushless motor keeps things clean and consistent, and the Bosch 12V battery platform gives it a level of credibility that most cordless detailing tools don’t have.
The Reality
This is not a correction monster. It is not replacing a proper corded machine or a high-end polishing system. Runtime is what you’d expect from a 12V tool, so don’t buy it thinking you’re going to polish an entire car on one battery.
That’s not the point.
The point is control, access, and convenience. This is the tool you reach for when the full-size polisher is too big, too clunky, or just more than you need.
Bottom Line
Buy this to make your life easier. Bosch brings a real tool platform to a part of detailing that is usually filled with compromises. If you need a compact cordless polisher for tight areas, spot work, and quick polishing, this makes a lot of sense.
If you’re trying to ball out and build a no-compromise polishing setup, you’re still stepping up to something like Mirka. But for a compact 3-inch cordless tool that is easy to grab and actually useful, the Bosch is a strong option.
