    Description

Besides having the transcendent Dynaudio Core Studio Monitors, I will also be offering the Dynaudio LYD Studio Monitors, which can be best described as practically amazing.

In this line of speakers, you will be able to choose from the LYD 5’s, the LYD 8’s, and the LYD 48’s (left and right). The entire line comes in both black and white with the cabinet portion of the speaker only being in black. You do have the option of having the white finish, though.

I’ve mentioned this before, and I’ll say it again, these speakers are not designed for the atmosphere we’re putting them in, I’m fully aware of that. But, they adapt well to this harsh environment the garage has. These speakers are made for low and mid-volume listening in a critical environment like a studio but having them in the garage is a match made in heaven.

These are categorized as budget speakers in the studio realm but high-end speakers in the garage realm. They are smooth, accurate, and colorless. What I mean by colorless and one of the reasons I love Dynaudio is that they’re going to produce what the original master sounds like without the extra fluff. Most people are looking for color when they’re jamming out and this is what these speakers will deliver.

When you’re in a bright environment like the garage, you want a dark/smooth-sounding speaker. In the LYD Studio line, we’re taking the silk-dome tweeter and we’re combining it with our tilt filter that we tilt towards low frequencies and we end up with a freaking amazing combination.

The magic in Dynaudio speakers is the lack of fatiguing sound they create. For someone sitting in a recording studio for hours, they will tend to experience ear exhaustion. These are constructed to counteract that fatigue and give the listener a much better listening experience. The same applies to you working in your garage. Whether paint correcting or coating your car, the amount of time spent working is accompanied by an enjoyable sound.

You’ll find that these speakers sound just as good at low volumes as they do at high volumes. So, you’ll still be able to relish in the awesomeness of sound at a lower volume while not disturbing the people in your house. Oh, and if you decide you want to mount these on your wall for better acoustics, grab a pair of the Dynaudio LYD On-Wall Brackets.

At OGHQ, I have my favorite pair from this line, and that’s the LYD 48’s. They have a 50-watt amplifier for the tweeter, and they added two channels, so each woofer has an 80-watt amplifier attached to it. You’re going to get a significant amount of output.

These speakers are almost too good for the garage and because I’m spending so much time there, having a smooth speaker makes the experience so much more inviting.

What you decide to buy will depend solely on your budget and how much you value audio. I will tell you that you should always buy the 48’s first and then work from there.
