Basic Decontamination Package

• Decon Soap: Foams great, adds lubrication, and strips waxes and sealants.
• Korrosol: Targets and dissolves embedded iron particles, especially from transport.
• Ultra Clay Scrubber: Smooths out the paint by removing leftover contamination.

The Decontamination Package includes all the basic chemicals you need to prep your car for protection or polishing. Decontaminating your paint is an essential step in dialing in your paint. There are some key products you need to know about.

Decon Soap - Whether you put this in your foam cannon or just in your wash bucket, this is going to do a lot of the heavy lifting of your decon process. It foams great, provides the needed lubrication, and even smells awesome. This will help strip any sealants, waxes, or any other junk stuck to your paint. FYI, this is not strong enough to strip coatings. That will require polishing.

Korrosol - Once you have washed your car with the Decon Soap, rinse it off, and then spray it down with Iron Buster. This will help remove any iron contaminants trapped in your paint. This is particularly important for people who live near train stations or who have purchased a new car. Vehicles are often transported via train to get them across the country. The iron particles from the railroad tracks and train wheels often get embedded in the paint of the car as it is transported. Spray this product all over your paint and let it sit for 2-5 minutes. Make sure you don't let this dry! You should see any iron particles in your paint turn purple. Rinse your vehicle again, removing all of the Iron Buster from the surface.

The Rag Company Ultra Clay Scrubber - Once you rinse the Iron Buster off, it is time to use the Clay Scrubber. There is still potential for dirt to be embedded in your paint, and this will take care of that. Using a dilution of McKee's N-914 or soapy water from your bucket, wet down your paint. This will add lubrication for the Clay Scrubber. Move the scrubber in side-to-side motions on the surface with as little pressure as possible. Make sure you have plenty of lubrication (soapy water or Mckee's) so you don't jack up your paint with more scratches.

There are some other great chemicals in this kit. The Tar-X is great for spot-treating any sap or road tar on your paint, and Griot's Engine Cleaner will help you detail your engine bay and get it dialed in.
