Protect Your Paint From Dirt

Description

The Detail Guardz Dirt Lock Bucket Insert is one of many tools that helps me reduce the chance of swirls and marring the paint on my car in the wash process. Compared to other bucket inserts, these Dirt Lock Bucket Inserts are actually effective at minimizing dirt from mixing back into the water in the bucket.

These bucket inserts will fit in most 3.5 to 7-gallon buckets. The buckets I sell are a 6-gallon version, and these fit snugly near the bottom - just make sure to take off the rubber pads that come with them. Those rubber pads are for buckets that are slightly larger than ours.

The Dirt Lock Bucket Inserts are designed in such a way that the contaminants and debris in the water stay in the bottom of the bucket. The fins on this insert are tapered, making it much more difficult for all that junk to get mixed back up to where you dunk your wash mitt/pad. How big of a deal is this since there is already dirt on the paint? I am not sure, but I think it is better to be safe than sorry.

I first found out about how effective these were from Sam at the Source Garage. He did some tests comparing all of the different bucket inserts, and the results were telling - the other options basically do nothing. See, the design of the other versions allows all the dirt to pass right through the grate. That being the case, what the heck is the point of using those versions if they don't do anything?

So based on this, Tommy got a set to test out to see how they work in the "real world". He used them for months, and while not a scientific conclusion, there was definitely more dirt at the bottom of the bucket after every wash.

If you guys care about reducing the chance of scratching when washing, you are going to want to pick a set of these. These can also be found as part of our Ultimate Bucket Solution and other Bucket Packages.
