Milwaukee makes a few different M12 drivers and just looking at them it's hard to tell the difference between them all. This one is similar to it's bigger M18 brother in many ways including performance. The Surge line sets itself apart in that the power curve for the torque distribution is much flatter and more consistent than non-Surge tools which allows you to drive screws in faster. Another benefit is that it's much quieter and vibrates way less than the standard non-surge tools as well.
