I've seen a whole lot of tool boxes over the years. You know me, I like the fancy stuff. In the world of tool boxes the Sonic ones aren't particularly expensive. I never understood why someone would spend $10,000 on a mediocre box. I always thought, "Why in the world would someone spend 25% of their annual income on some so-so stuff?" Before I actually went to Sonic HQ in Auburn, I saw a few of their S11 boxes at Atlanta Motorsports Park. I love the MSS cabinet line but not the tool boxes I saw. I thought, "I'll chase tool boxes from some other company later." When I finally made it to SonicUSA HQ, I asked them to open up one of each of their tool boxes. They were all in a line: S8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15. I got to touch and feel each one of them. It was really obvious to me almost immediately, the S9, 12, and 12xD were legit, but I didn't like any of the other ones.
It's has been on my list for about a year now, but I felt like I needed to get them in my garage to really get hands on to give a solid assessment. So...I bought the three that I liked and had them sent to OGHQ to make sure I was correct, but let's be honest, I just wanted to play with them. After spending a bunch of time rolling around the garage, I like them more than I thought I would. The casters are legit, they are completely compatible with Sonic Foam Inlays for tools, and have usual amazing Sonic fit and finish.

Shipping
The S9 toolbox ships on a pallet with plenty of packing around it to protect the edges. The 5-inch casters (two swiveling/locking) also come pre-installed. In less than 10 minutes you can have the shrink-wrap off all four foam tool trays, the towel bar installed, and both can holders mounted to the sides of the toolbox. These will drop-ship from the Auburn, AL warehouse. Depending on where you live, prepare to add about 25% of the cost of the cabinets/boxes in shipping. $4000 in cabinets/boxes will cost around $1000 to ship. Rather than building shipping into the price and leaving a fudge factor for different parts of the country, I think it's smarter to simply quote you the price it costs with no markup.
- If you know what you want, place your order.
- I will send a separate invoice with shipping cost.
