The Mille is the newest addition to the BigFoot lineup. Where the LHR15 and LHR21 MKII will stop rotating under heavier pressure or uneven pad loads, the Mille is forced rotation. It oscillates like a dual-action polisher, but continues rotating under load like a rotary. That translates to more cutting power and more flexibility around edges or complex panels.
Where the LHR15 and LHR21 boast 15mm and 21mm throws, the Mille has a 5mm orbit. This means that the backing plate/pad can be placed in tighter areas and allows for more flexible movement options on complex panels.
Unlike other gear-driven polishers on the market, the Mille includes two backing plates – 5 inches and 6 inches – so there is no need to buy additional backing plates.
The motor produces 900 watts of power and rotates the backing plate from 265RPM (speed 1) to 535RPM (speed 6).
The trigger is progressive, so precise speed can be dialed in when necessary (for example, spreading polish on a panel before beginning a full pass).
This polisher should be used with the pads specifically designed for this. The foam pads are thinner and available in both 5" and 6" sizes. There are also wool pads from RUPES that I'd recommend for heavier defects. It is recommended you not use microfiber pads with this machine.
