After buying and testing over 30 different bucket sizes, types, colors & manufacturers, I have decided these 6 Gallon, 90 mil buckets made by Letica are the best for this application. 6 gallon buckets are a good size because they are big enough to wash a car without needing to refill, but not too big that they tip over. 

This is a 90 mil true white bucket. They’re much nicer than you’ll find at Home Depot or somewhere similar. I think white is the most natural color to go with in this application

Note: If you’re using this for your wash process, I’d highly recommend adding a Grit Guard and Gamma Seal at the very least, or just going with the Complete Bucket Package.
