This is a really interesting product made by P&S and endorsed by detailer Renny Doyle. You know me. I'm always honest. I never gave any of the P&S products a fair shake. I don't know why, but they just didn't appeal to me. Clearly that was a mistake.
Levi and the guys from The Rag Company lit up when they asked if I'd ever tried this product and said, "No." There is something special about this stuff. It provides a slickness and depth to pretty much any base protectant. It works with polymer sealants, carnauba waxes, and all types of coatings. That really appeals to me since I am always trying different coatings and waxes on my vehicles.
Here are some things I think matter:
- The product is a polymer spray sealant that takes about 2 hours to crosslink and bond to the surface.
- Includes UV inhibitors/filter to add UV protection
- Use as a drying aid, topper for coating or wax, on windows, wheels, safe on trim, etc.
Use of this product can be counter intuitive to what we have been taught. It depends on what you have on the paint already, but you will need to spray a lot more than you are used to doing. I've found on waxed cars (like 845), I really soak the surface with the product. On most coated cars, I tend to spritz the surface and spray more on the towel. This is much more time consuming than other drying aids like CarPro ECH20 or Kenotec Showroom Shine, but I think the results and protection you get are worth the effort.
You can use this on a wet or dry surface. The way I use it is as follows:
- Wash the car using my normal washing process.
- Blow the car off using EGO 530 CFM blower.
- Waxed Car: Spray Bead Maker soaking one panel at a time. Spray a few spritzes on my Drying Aid Towel (orange). Have a second Drying Aid Towel to finish the wipe.
- Coated Car: Spray Bead Maker spritzing one panel at a time. Spray an ample amount of product on the higher pile side of my Drying Aid Towel (orange). You want more on the towel than on the paint to prevent smearing. Have a second Drying Aid Towel to finish the wipe.
- Both will take quite a few passes to "work" the product onto the surface.
- I always let cure for a few hours before going out in the rain.
The look of this product is like nothing else I've ever used. It does take some extra effort with the initial application, but I think you'll like it. I use on paint, door jambs, and sometimes windows if my coating has worn out and I don't have time to reapply. I would highly suggest you buy a gallon. You will use a lot of this.
