The Best Garage Fan To Cool Your Garage

Vyper Turbo Fan Wall Mounted In Residential Garage

You’re here because you’re sick and tired of sweating like crazy in your home garage or shop. You’ve tried opening your garage door to let some air circulate throughout your workspace, but it just seems to make matters worse. What I’ve found to work exceptionally well besides using a mini-split is installing what I think is the best garage fan for garages and shops - The Vyper Turbo Fan.

In my previous houses, I had Air King fans installed in my garage, which were great. I had them wall-mounted above my locker cabinets in each corner of the garage. When Alex (from Vyper Industrial) came to my home and told me about the Vyper Fan, I knew I wanted them instead of the Air King fans. They’re so much quieter and looking freaking sick. If you’re looking for a great sweat-free solution for your garage that’s easy to install (if you mount it) and provides a ton of air circulation, you unquestionably want this fan.

The Garage Fan Features You Want

I’ve had my share of garage fans; some were complete junk, while others were great. My definition of a great product is a product with excellent 1) style, 2) functionality, 3) durability, and 4) usability. I guess you can say that I’m a sucker for positive user experiences.

When I think of a quality garage fan and what makes it great, I think of these things:

  • Quality. Are you surprised to see this first? I don’t care about the cost; if it’s something I’m going to use regularly, I want it to be built well. Vyper uses only the best materials to make their products, and they’re made in the USA. Another example of the quality of their products is their garage chairs. You won’t find a better rolling garage chair anywhere.
  • Portability. For you guys in a shop, this is something you’ll want in your garage fan. The Vyper Turbo Fan comes standard with interchangeable mounts for the floor and wall, giving you complete control over where you want it. My plan for my garage is to keep them mounted and on one fan speed setting. By having two, I’ll have excellent air circulation and won’t have a reason to take them down. If you’re someone who has a residential garage, you’ll probably want to follow the same setup as me.
  • Adjustability. You’d think that having a fan that turns and tilts is standard with most fans; it isn’t. Having an oscillating garage fan is something that should be at the very top of your list of needs. These types of fans are more efficient and circulate air much better than a standard box fan. When you’re grinding away in your shop, you don’t want to have to stop every time you change locations to reposition your fan.
  • Noise. I don’t know what magic Vyper Industrial has done to make this thing so quiet, but boy is it. I like to play music while working in my garage, so having fans that don’t interfere with my audio makes the experience much more enjoyable.
  • Motor. This thing is powered by a brushless DC motor with five aluminum blades that generate 23,5000 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) at turbo speeds. Brushless motors have higher reliability, a longer lifetime (no brush erosion), and a reduction of electromagnetic interference. Probably more information than you need, but I think it’s important to understand the inner workings of tools, especially ones you pay a lot of money for and want to last for a while.

If you’re looking for the best overall garage fan, I’m telling you, you want this one. Having both a mini-split and two Vyper Turbo fans in my personal garage makes work more enjoyable.

Should You Wall Mount or Not To Wall Mount Your Garage Fan(s)?

Whenever I have an opportunity to mount anything, I do it. I’ve wall-mounted my pressure washer, bike rack, and garage cabinets. I want as much stuff off of the floor as possible. When you think about creating space in your garage, you want to do as much as possible to keep equipment and tools out of the way. Do you see where I’m going with this?

The obvious answer, for me at least, is to wall mount. Here are some of the advantages you get with mounting your garage fans:

  • They’re out of the way. That’s the most important thing for me and should be for you. These Vyper fans are pretty big in size but lightweight. As I mentioned, having these mounted on the wall keeps them in a static position without ever having to move them around. Now, if you decide you need some more portability, you can keep them on the tripod or grab yourself a cordless fan that you can wheel around just about anywhere.
  • Aesthetics. I love how fans look when they are installed on the wall. It’s hard to explain, but they just give the garage a different look that I like. I’m big on symmetry, so having everything positioned properly, including these fans on each side above my cabinets, makes the space complete.
  • Safety. Not that I’m concerned with safety, but I have children who occasionally come into the garage, and I don’t want them to trip over cords. By having these fans mounted, there’s no concern for anyone hurting themselves, and it just looks better not to have cords running across the floor, especially if you have tile flooring that you want to keep clutter and junk free.
  • Function. Having fans that are controlled by a power switch is one of the best things you can do. I highly recommend wiring your garage setup so that you can control your fans with a simple flick of a switch.

You’ll thank yourself for getting these fans up and running on the wall. I have mine set on the perfect air speed setting, so I don’t have to touch them. The Vyper Turbo Fan is equipped with a variable speed adjustment so you can dial in the exact wind flow for ultimate comfort with full oscillating capabilities.
